Hello Andrew:
I enjoyed both your videos. I have been cooking for my King for quite a while now, he really enjoys his meals very much.

Again, excellent video. Very true. I have always tried to lead by example and am always willing to teach others around me on how to be a responsible dog owner.
I totally agree. However, having been a member of Responsible Pet Owners, I know that many people don’t like the words “qualified” and “responsible”. They are usually the ones who say “It’s just a dog”. I have raised two litters of pups in the last 20 years. None were advertised in the local paper and my interviews generally took about an hour. Pets are God’s creatures and creations too. Perhaps we should come up with some different words for these people who are so offended. Better yet, perhaps we should ask them why they believe they should adopt and care for one of God’s creatures.
Another great video, (loved the pics) . Once again I agree with all and can’t wait to hear more!
I’ve spent all of my life (50+years) with canine and feline company, and consider myself fortunate to have received so much love from doing so.
I considered myself a good owner, yet I never once considered reading the label on pet food or questioning the ‘expert’ advice. For a health care worker who from experience doesn’t automatically think Doctors know everything, why should I trust a Vet? Yet I did.
People like YOU made me stop and think about what I was feeding my pet and why! I quickly changed to a more natural diet and the results, I have living proof in the 17yr old male cat who looks and behaves like a eight year old! It led me to question how I was treating them and why. I now think more about what ‘Good’ Ownership really is. I watch all the TV shows and If an old girl like me can STILL learn there’s hope for the younger generation, surely.
Please keep up the good work!
Willow sends lots of sloppy kisses and hugs to say thanks. Hope you like German Shepherd size ones? Ooops sorry about the dog-hair!
Her diet really NEEDED to be good as she was a malnourished Rescued Dog. and is now the picture of good health!
The cats of course just say a Polite and dignified Thank you!
I thank you too, so consider yourself hugged warmly.
Thanks again Andrew….very informative. I have passed on your info to everyone I know who owns a pet, I’m sure they would find it informative as well. If each of us do our part to educate others, we may give a pet or two a chance. Looking forward to the next video. Hugs and paw shakes from Patches and Belle. God bless you.
I went to school to become an animal health tech. After school I went to work with a veterinarian. I became so frustrated that I left that field. Why? Because the don’t teach their clients. Not like they could and should. I found Animal Control to be the answer for me. And for 9 years in that position I saw more cruelty, abuse, stupidity, neglect than I ever realized was possible. But in my job I was able to do a lot of educating. Before I wrote a ticket or removed the animal from it’s home I worked with the owners on ways to avoid and correct the wrong cituation. Those that would comply and tried to fix things and do things right never received a citation and with time became a much better pet owner. Those that didn’t either received a citation over and over again until the animal was removed or lost their right to pet owner ship through the courts. In severe cituation I never thought twice about taking the animal from their care. I don’t think people realize what goes on in this world with the precious creatures that have been placed in our care. I believe in education and I continue to do so with the people and animals I come in contact with in my life. It is good to see others trying to do the same.
Hi I am having a lot of internet trouble right now so unable to watch the vidios what i did here sounded good . I have no high speed right now so trying to get wireless this summer . Keep up the good work.
Esther
Thanks agin, Andrew! I am looking forward to video #3. Keep up the good work!!!
What you say is so true! I saw a Black Lab in the back seat of a car yesterday at a restaurant, and the windows were down about 3 in., but that dog was so warm! Why would anyone take a dog to a restaurant when they are having a meal. It was there when I arrived and there when I left. Makes me angry!
more training sorry new keyboard
Hi very good but i need moe raining
Yes, I too why I was paying to hear what I already knew about bad owner, pet owners and dog partnerships. But I appreciate your motivating me to be an “Example of Excellence,” which I try to be. I love being approached and told what wonderful dogs I have. Now I’ll push it a little further and spread this knowledge of being more than just a dog owner. How to be an excellent dog owner, which I think I’m pretty close, but not all the way there. One can never stop learning and doing and “Implementing” continuously new things. Thanks.
“Red” days thank you too!
Thanks that listening to this is free too.
You have a very kind heart and a great ministry here.
Thanks. I will be passing info onto my friends and relatives who still have their “children”. I am the designated babysitter for all of them so I do have some say so. I hope to be able to help them become “qualified”. Look forward to the next video.
Thank you for all the info. It is great that you are doing what you do. If it weren’t you, we might still be continuing to make the old mistakes without knowing what we were doing wrong or being able to pass this info on to others.
Thanks Andrew!
I just lost my best buddy for 8 years, my standard poodle “Ebony” I miss him greatly and can only wish I had spent more time with him then I did. Thanks for the video!
George
Great video, you’re right on! I’m anxiously awaiting the 3rd video.
Hi Andrew,
Last year a young puppy showed up here on my property. I rescued her—name Ashley,
and then we drove up and down Bear Creek road (rural), sure that some one was
looking for her. Sure enough, a stressed out looking father driving slowly, looking
around in the culverts, caught our attention. We asked, did you lose a dog? Uh huh,
my kids, and wife are going crazy. We then ask for a description. It was correct, and
told the man, we have the dog in our dog run.
He was so grateful, and followed us home. Ashley was about 3 miles from home. Later
the man brought my husband and I several delicious cuts of Elk for our freezer in thanks
for rescuing their chocolate lab. I was already attached to Ashley, and the man said
do you want to give Ashley a hug goodbye. I said uh huh!
What a spiritual experience to have made a whole family happy to have rescued
their young pup.
Thank you for your dedicated effort to educate us all.

My dog, Katie, just got a nice big hug and petting from Andrew. She is the delight of my life and a wonderful companion & part of the family. I only wish all dogs could be as spoiled as she is. They want so much to please us. Thanks for your videos.
I have 4 kids (dogs) one we got after a family decided they not longer wanted to take care of her special needs, they were going to put her to sleep. Soon after we took her and got her needs taken care of they went out an got three more dogs. There should be laws against these type of people.
Your videos are wonderful an should be shown to all who are going to adopt a new family menber
Andrew,
Thanks so much for all your wonderful information! I have been priveledged to be “Mom” to several dogs over my lifespan. I always “thought” I was a good Mom but alfter reading all you have written and watched your videos I realized that I have not been as good as I used to think I was. All my dogs lived to at least 13 to 14 years and acted happy however, I now realized I could have been feeding them better. I have a new puppy now and am feeding her your way. No more horrifying recalls on dog food. She is very active, happy, beautiful, and very healthy! It’s also fun preparing her food. Smells so good that sometimes my husband thinks I am cooking for him, so there you have it. Looking forward to video 3. I have a friend that has a very fussy eater (Maltese) that LOVES my Becky’s food. I am trying to get his Mom to cook for him too. I will keep trying. Keep up the good work. Becky barks a “thanks for the hug and here is one right back to you!”
I am putting your point about being an example to work. Everytime I see an ordinary, undisciplined pet and its owner, I show them how to use treats and praise to train their dog to behave properly, and encourage them to bond with their dog in a greater way, which means doing more than the bare essentials of a daily walk and food and water. Although I’m far from perfect, I am learning and putting what I learn to work.

I am so happy that I stumbled onto Andrew’s website. My dog, Buck loves the food & I appreciate that there’s someone out there who cares about the health & life of our best friends. I have told many people about Andrew’s videos & video just reminds us to keep spreading the word. Great job Andrew & Buck & I say THANK YOU!!!!
Hi Andrew, for the second time. I watched video 2 again, and enjoyed it more this time. The people who did not quite understand your message in this video, might do so by watching it again. It is heartwarming to read everyone’s comments and discover so many dog lovers are out there. This world would be so much less troubled if every human had a dog to love and to love them in return. One can only hope. Adele, Tilly and Ele in Oz.
Andrew, I’m always looking for more info on taking care of my puppies. Great job on the video’s, can’t wait for more. What if we have certain questions Andrew would you be willing to answer them? And where would we send them? Thanks for all your hard work.
I am waiting patiently, or should I say impatiently for Video #3. I sure hope I have not missed them. If more people thought of their pets as a “member” of their family wouldn’t it be wonderful. I know of what you speak when you talk of your beloved passing due to kidney failure and I am completely horrified when doing research on the “dog food” conspiracy. I am very upset at the lack of information I can find regarding this last “recall” and what was really found out. I have insurance for my pets and have hit a wall when asking them about any information which surprises me. I really feel this has been swept under the carpet (so to speak) because I am sure there is more to the story. I have said it for years that we are “slowly” poisoning our pets with the “market” dog food which is a “multi-million” dollar industry. I am very grateful for your downloads and as I started saying…I wait patiently for the next 2 videos
Cheers Heather
Both videos were very good. I am still learning about my dog that I got from the animal shelter here. I did not get much info from them about her, so I’m just having to pay attention from her. Thanks again.
Enjoyed the video. Aurora seemed to also. We’re both eager to learn more
I am enjoying your videos and am excited to learn more that will help me with my Precious Ana. I have never had a lap-dog before (maltese/ yorkie) and they are totally different than the larger breeds. I have a lot of learning. I do believe I mis-named my baby though! I should have named her ‘ miss attitude’! She is very strong willed, wants what she wants when she wants it and I am losing my place as pack leader. She also always has the last word. If I keep going – so does she. HELP!! Maybe you can do a video 6???? She is so cute and I love her.
I’ve learned so much about dog food that I feel sorry for the pet’s whose owners I see buying the poison off the shelves at stores. As a parent, I feel the same responsibility towards my dogs as I do my children. If I can learn more about other areas of my dogs’ health and happiness, I feel it is my responsibility to do so. Thanks for everything you’ve taught me so far.
I agree with everything you have said – you are right on the money. I wish that many other people knew this or felt the same way. My dogs are precious to me. I have two rescues-one is a border collie- shepherd mix & the other one is a plott hound that is totally agressive toward other dogs.cats, squirrels, bikes, skateboards – we have done everything possible to curtail her actions but to no avail. I take her on daily walks in dreaded fear & prayer so as not to run into a loose dog or even one on a leash. But we are still working on it. I understand exactly what you are saying. Thank you.
I watched lesson 2 and found it confusing. I got nothing out of it except to be loving to your dogs and to set an example of the way you treat your dogs. I love my 3 dogs and my 1 cat more than anything. I think one of the kindest things is to feed them good healthy food and there is none on the market.
Can you help me with what to feed them? I will cook for them if necessary. What do the people commiting on this lesson 2 feed their dogs? They don’t like dry dog food and I am afraid of canned. I have fed them people food, which they love, but I know it isn’t good for them. Help
A very good video, my dogs I consider my children and my family this video explains to ppl how to make their dog family. Thank you for making these videos.
Thanks again looking forward to your next video. Always love what you have to say. I have a Jack Russell Terrier and a Jackapoo. My little boy Jack Russell is quite a handful and needs alot of mental stimulation so I’m always trying to learn more about my little family. After all I want us all to be happy!
your passion is very contagious, i love my dog and want the best for her and with your help i feel i giving it to her. “yeshe” also a dog guru, thanks you, my daughter, who will take this knowlegde into the future thanks you, and i thanks you! gaiea
I switched my show Toy Fox Terriers from a very expensive and highly thought of brand of dog food, to one on your list that I knew about (but thought was similar to the original brand). I do not know why my brand was not on the list, but that knowledge alone was worth the price of admission. I see so many others treat their dogs like toddlers and feed them the poor food choices they feed their kids. Kids need an advocate like you! Thanks…Constance from AZ. PS: I make my own food for the evening meal and it is looking better and better as I gain knowledge of dog food ingredients.
I am a new owner and realize how much I have to learn. My Kadee is just starting her puppy training. She is high spirited and stubborn like her mother, so we will be learning together. Thank you for all of the useful information you are providing to assist a beginner.
Good sequence to Video 1. Gives the motivation to look forward to Video 3. There is a slight distracting sound in the background, however. Content is interesting.
Thanks Andrew,
Again you are right on and I totally agree with everything you say about being a responsible dog owner. It’s not just the pet on the head or the belly rub,, it’s all of that and more. It’s caring for them in illness and feeding them properly, grooming and so on. I brush their teeth every other day. Just like a child. I treat my babies like they are my babies,, my children. When we travel by car,, they are harnessed and belted in a car seat. Their car seats are elevated because they like to watch out the window. My husband and I travel to Florida every eight weeks and we take our babies with us on the airplane. We wouldn’t think of going to Florida without them. And when the time comes that we go on a trip where pets are not allowed, we have the perfect place for them. With my Son and his family who also love them. So, owning a pet is a responsibility and people should be prepared for it if they want a pet, otherwise it’s really not fair to the pet.
Thanks again Andrew,, looking forward to the next video.
Again, very good. It makes me want to do even better for my dog. He deserves the best!
Andrew, I want to thank you so much. Still in grief over losing our
Baby Benson. Our new addition is an Mini Ausie and he eats breakfast
and dinner with us. We also give him a bit of Blue Buffalo dry food.
He has somewhat of an attitude, and treats my Husband like a slave.
His nick name is “the Tasmanian Devil”. Gives back massages, knocks
people off their bikes, and barks wildly at the mail man, and he’s only
9 months old. I keep telling my Husband Tony, that Spyro is only a puppy,
and we have to love and treat him with respect, and teach him well.
There are no bad dogs, just bad owners. I believe that they are our spirtual guides.
Keep up the good work,
Ann
Excellent, a place to begin. Again Thanks.
Jim
Andrew, As our Choir Director, you and I have alot of Dog Owners to preach too. There are 4 million pet deaths each year and we must at least try to reach as many as possable to STOP this. Your word out is a must, using the WEB and any other means possable. The video’s are a start and thank you for your concerned efforts. Capt. Dan , Wire Fox Terrier owner(rescued)
I HAVE TO SAY THANK YOU TO ANDREW FOR THESE VIDEOS. I HAVE BEEN REALLY TAKING ALL OF THIS INFORMATION TO HEART. MY HUSBAND IS TOO. I THINK ITS REALLY NEAT THAT MY HUSBAND WHO USED TO CALL ME A “DOOGY DORK” FOR DOING ALL OF THE THINGS THAT YOU TALK ABOUT FOR OUR DOG, IS NOW FOLLOWING YOUR ADVICE. YOU ARE DOING A GREAT THING!! KEEP IT UP!!!
I agree with all you have to say. I am not really learning much that is new, yet the reminder of “being an example”, is something I do not think about, so that was great. Thanks.
Looking forward to number 3.
I enjoyed your 2nd video, also. Too many people do not know how to take control and care of their animals.
I could not get video 1 to play but I did get to play video 2. I purchased your dog food secrets, I had gone online to get the names of the pet food that had been poisioning dogs and cats. Before purchasing your dog food secrets. I never really read the labels of the ingredients and I didn’t buy cheap dog food either. But it has opened my eyes I read the labels for my family so why wasn’t I reading the label for my dog. He is part of our family as well. when I have time I prepare him homemade food and I make him his own biscuits as well. I really enjoyed the video . You are so right about being a responsible pet owner, if more people were responsible animal shelters wouldn’t be filled with pets, from unresponsible people who don’t educate themselves on owning a pet. Our pets rely on us their owners to give them the love and care they deserve. The saying man’s best freind is so true. Your dog knows when your sick and he knows when your sad . My little dog when I’m sad he does something to make me laugh , he’s like the dogsin the video. and when I’m sick he curls up beside me to comfort me. I have owned many dogs in my life and they all had lived a long healthy life except for one who got cancer and she still lived to be fifteen. It would hurt so much because they had been part of my life for a long time. But my mother and then the vets would say that they had a good life because I had taken good care of them.
Thanks Andrew keep up the good work.
Dear Andrew,
I can not seem to get the video to work. I really need your help, as my beloved Aussie, Sydney has been struggling with walking and now her right paw has a raw pad and she is bitting her leg. She has a hard time walking. I took her to a new vet, we had moved, and he spend 3 minutes and said it might be cancer. He did not give me any meds. So I called Pet Meds and got some joint meds and pain medicine and also some black chews that they said would help Syd. Syd is 11 years old. She is truly my soul mate and I do not want her to be in Pain.
Please help. Sincerely, Donna Fisher
Andrew, I think you should put together a program and present it to Animal Planet so you can reach millions more people. Maybe the companies of the dog food you do recommend will help sponsor you. Also put a soft cover book out and make it available for purchase at pet stores and animal sanctuaries like Best Friends or the Humane Society so people can educate themselves when they get a new pet. A free brochure at these places directing them to your website might do the same thing.
I would be thrilled to watch DOG SECRETS on ANIMAL PLANET.
I SO wish all people would adopt the information that you are providing (and SHOULD be just plain common sense) into the care of all animals, whether it be dog, cat, fish, bird, or even reptile. Now there’s a couple of extremely under managed animal groups: fish, birds, and reptiles! I wish people would research their specific animals, and also specific breed/species before deciding that can be competent at that animals husbandry, even when it it something so seemingly “simple” as a dog or cat. They ignorantly take on the responsibility and prove time and again that they are sadly lacking and also their ignorance! I am definitely sharing this info. Thank you

Andrew,
I enjoyed this 2nd video just like I enjoyed the 1st one. I don`t know how any dog owner ( and I know there are a lot of those out there) could be the way they are when it comes to not taking care of their dogs.
My dogs are so loyal to me and I know most are that way to their dog owners too but they don`t tend to notice the loyalty their dogs are showing to them.
Thank you very much for the 2nd video and I am looking forward to the 3rd one. I like what you are doing here. I will give all 3 of my dogs a pat on the head and tell them, this is from Andrew.
Regards,
Tom
Hi Andrew Just watched video #2. Very informative. I adopted a7 mo. old sheltie cross in Dec. and he is the joy of my life. I found out last week that he was rescued from a town that has dog shoot days. Thank God for the good work you do in educating all of us in caring for these precious bundles of joy. Mary &Hikaru
Andrew, we think you are the professor of Dogology! Just like with raising children, you can never learn enough. I know I’ve started a collection of books. I hope people will take to heart what you are trying to get across.
If a person is not ready to be a parent, then they should really consider if they really want to be a pet parent. Human babies grow and leave the den. Fur babies stay dependent on us. We really do enjoy your videos Professor Andrew (lol).
Reba and I send our love and thanks for everything you do.
Andrew,
Spike and I watched your video together and he is proud to tell you that his Mommy is part of the choir! I learned from your book that the best foods for him are the same organic foods we eat. This is a great video series and Spike and I look forward to the next one to continue learning.
Thanks for this! And Spike says “thanks for the pet, Andrew!”
I feel as though video 2 didn’t have anything to say to those of us who already love our dogs and care for them as though they are our children. I am truly greatful for the information I have learned from your site about doggie nutrition, but I would like more specific information from the videos.
Hi Andrew, Thankyou for caring enough about animals to share your knowledge about dog ownership. As I live in Australia, I am not sure what brands of dog food are the safest here. I am trying to cook for our 9 year old Blue Healer and 7 month old Shetland Sheepdog so as to avoid giving them commercial dried food for fear I am doing them irrepairable harm.
I adore animals, especially dogs, having had them as loving companions since I was a young child, therefore, for about 55 of my 63 years. I am a trained Veterinary nurse and a professional dog groomer, so have loved many dogs along the way. The heartbreak of losing a beloved pet before an age when it is reasonable to understand, I have found is devastating. Keep up the good work Andrew. If your information helps give just a small number of dogs a better life (hopefully 100s), then it is so worth it. Adele from Oz.
Another excellent video! I did give my lil buddy a nice pat from you…thanks so much for caring and giving us the information to become better pet owners. since becoming a gold member I have thrown away buddies old food and am making him food now. He loves it. It makes me feel great to know I am becoming a better pet owner. I want to spread this knowledge to everyone I know that has a pet, so far so good. thanks again, can’t wait to see video 3.
We need to be constantly reminded of ways to care of our dogs. Thank you.
Great job! Everyone watch Oprah today its all about dogs. Dogs that need those of us who watch Andrews videos and care about all dogs!!It will be very informative.
I think video 2 is good. I especially like the choir part. You give the knowledge and when people learn it, its up to them to go and tell others.
Good job Andrew.
Thanks Andrew for the video, excellent …..
Beautiful.. thanks a lot!!!!
Somehow I cannot get the videos, I haven’t seen either one.
Mona
I agree that we learn by our mistakes and experience can be a good teacher, where being a good dog owner is concerned.
I have enjoyed both videos and am looking forward to the next one.
Really wish I could watch your videos’…I’m unable to access either one…any suggestions??
Thanks again Andrew, I enjoyed the first video more then the second, but the second video the meaning is there but it seems to be lacking something more.To attract the veiwer point.
I can’t put my finger on it right now. But keep up the good work thou.
I like to see your next video, to see what it has to offer.
As far as exercise in your video, I don’t know about that. They both keep us hopping as soon as I wake up their there with their leashes and all and after work when I’m tired they have their toys in mouth and all. Their always on the go, if it is not one its the other,I and my husband have to take turns with these little guys.THEY WEAR US OUT.
They have more spuk than both us put together.
As far as teaching, ya! right, one dog teaches the other dog, and they teach us a thing or two in the mean time. Like its time to wake up in the morning if it is not the alarm clock its them on the bed licking our facing until we get up, also if we forget their water, their after our water before we even get it towards our mouth, and back talk to us,until we hear them.
So all in all, these two little guys are MORE HUMAN THAN DOGS.
We may have a hand on them in what they do,and what they eat and such.
But I think these guys think they are the boss, more than us.
If they want to be crest, they let us know by pawing us or we have our hands scratch up.
I think these guys have it in for us. “” All dogs and cats”"
They are very loving dogs, and we respect them and they respect us too.
That is the true meaning of a good dog owner. RESPECT AND LOVING AND CARING,AND UNDERSTANDING.
If you don’t have that, like you say than you shouldn’t own a dog it’s just a pet, like a car to them give it fuel and stick it in the garage.
Thanks again
BJ & Tramp (Ruff Ruff)
great video. I can hardly wait for video 3
Thanks again Andrew. I am so happy to be a part of this informative group. Anybody that wants to open their home/heart to a pupper needs to know it is an honor, not a possession.
Hi,
Good work, It hurts to see any kind of animal being treated cruelly. especially a pet.
People tell me my dogs, I have two Yorkies, are spoiled. I treat them like any other family member, which they are. I love them and I think they know it, if I spoil them so be it. As a parent you do what you can, to the best of your ability, searching for any knowledge you need. Same with your pets. And kindness to all animals. I believe you’ll answer for what you do, down the road.
Dee
great job i like seeing good things i still have video 1 on my mind i sure would like to help with the abused animals it just breaks my heart
Thank you for providing great information. I have changed the way I feed my puppies and take care of them with the information I have learned from you. Some people think I am off my rocker when they hear I do a raw diet for my three dogs. However, my first boy Max lived until he was 21 years old then had a heart attack. My three puppies now love eatting a raw diet and refuse to eat any kibble even the ones you suggested in your writings. Mangos and apples and especially bananas are their fruit of choice and well breakfast is hot oatmeal with apples. What can I say we all are eatting healthier and lost weight and extra benefit too taking very good care of my animals. My daughter who is nine makes a joke with people telling them that she eats do food. Then I normally have to explain the whole raw diet and why we do it for the puppies. It’s amazing after I explain why they always want to know how their poop is?
In case I didn’t mention it you do a splendid job of educating dog owners. Keep up the great work!
Liz Nafoosi
Nice job.
GOOD JOB!!! We need more like you in this world, Thanks.
GREAT JOB!!! Andrew, It’s people like you that will make a differince. Keep up the good work. Knowledge is power and maybe we can fill in the gaps that people are missing. Looking foreward to the 3rd video.
I am truely happy that someone is identifying the qualities that are needed to be a good and qualified dog owner. i agree and am very happy. I have two mini Dachshunds that are my kids and are spoiled, but with rules. I am also happy to announce that I have puppies on the way!!! Thank you so much for the videos and I am excited to see the others.
I have followed your tips and recipes from the start, and my Dogs have been better than I could have hoped for, thank you for your great video’s

Both video’s have played about 3 minutes and stopped and I can’t get them to continue. Do you have any solution.
Thanks

Two responsibilities, one to the dog and the second to all dogs is an important concept. In followup videos, I would like to see a lot of emphasis on providing one’s dog with a good life from the dog’s point of view. For example, working breeds need work: A Border Collie is not a couch potato or a lap dog. He needs an outlet for the herding instinct. Different breeds need outlets for their inclinations. Paying attention serves both responsibilities.
Andrew, I love you….:) Please tell us the ways we can be informed dog owners. I need to know more. What if my dog is throwing up? What if my dog eats part of a Mountain Dew can? What shots and immunizations should my dog recieve and when? How do I get my dog to walk peacefully beside me, at my pace? When do I get my dog fixed, before her first heat or should I let her come in heat a time or two? How old? What kind of food should I feed my dog? Should I socialize my dog or keep her away from people if I want her to be a good protector? My dog likes to chase my cats, which are older. They do not like it at all. What can I do to make the dog behave and leave my poor cats alone? My dog likes to watch me eat but I will not let her in the room because I do not want her to become a moocher. What method do I use to make her get on her bed and lay down while I eat. What if my dog barks when I can not see anything out there? Do I try to make her be quiet or let her bark. She does not bark often but sometimes I am scared it will make the neighbors mad….I have so many questions. How much time should I spend with her to keep her healthy mentally? Walks, how long, how far, how often. I need to know. I want to know…P.S. I love you..you are great.
I Thank you Andrew and my dog Libby thanks you. You are showing us a better way.
Good job Andrew. Your video are very enjoyable. Keep up the good work.
I was waiting for more but I did understand what you are leading up to. Responsibility of being a dog owner is vital to our dogs well being. I am the proud owner of two collies that i got from a collie rescue. They both have issues that I have had to (and still) help them overcome. What they have been through is product of poorly educated people or non caring. I think you needed a little more content in the video but it was still good.
Thanks for caring so much and I look forward to the next video.
Gloria
Andrew,
Your first video was excellent, your video 2 needs more context. I thought it was rather mundane, but maybe necessary for the new or un-educated dog owner.
thank you again for doing what you do.
Doris
Very informative and I believed that all or every dog would thank you
if they could hear what was said. Keep up the good work.
Very well said, although the background noise was a bit distracting…
I would like to see more dog companions who make the effort to educate and work as hard as you do to get this kind of information out there
Good on Ya Andrew.
Andrew,
Thank you for your informative videos. Personally, I found the first one more informative, with the subject angle better and more interesting to follow than the second. I fully agree that, like you, I have had dogs for 31 years and am always learning a better way and more about them. I use my dogs in competition and I see many who are falling short of what is a decent standard of dog ownership. Although one might feel inclined to say “They would never treat their kids that way …” they probably do and, certainly, one sees many people whose children are lacking proper input and caring treatment just as so many dogs are. Even though I am in the food industry (Natural/Raw Meat Feeding) and do many talks and seminars on the subject where the care aspect is also included as it must, so relying on dogs that feed our food, I always say, one of the reasons for so much neglect is because there are simply far too many dogs – by that I mean too many dogs that are in the hands of ‘Unqualified ownership’.
Hi! The whole idea of what you are trying to do is really inspiring! I live in Greece and over here we have a long way ahead of us in order to realise that having a pet is a great pleasure and also responsibility. The pet culture in my country simply doesn’t exist. There are so many strays, and there are no laws protecting them.
To cut a long story short, I believe that your audience is priviledged to be able to share useful information and ideas about pet keeping, which will ensure a long and happy life for pets and owners alike.
P.S.
When I told my friends about you and your books and what I have been trying to do with my dog, Hera (a belgian Sheperd) they were so critical! The truth is that in a country where people struggle to make ends meet, cooking for your dog sounds “alien”. When people see my family (twins age 3) husband and dog together in the garden or just out for a walk, the look on their face is just unbelievable!
Anyhow, keep up the good work and I’m looking forward to more videos soon!
Andrew, Your videos are the greatest, I am so thrilled about learning these things about my baby’s health. Thank you so very much, and keep up the outstanding work, everyone can put this to work, everyday, and at any given time.
However I need to ask you a question please; What would you say to your sisters husband after finding out He shot your sweet little angel baby, an exceedingly sweet little Maltese she weighed 2 and 1/2 pounds, and she was in perfect health, I had just been to the vet with her, I have always cooked for my treasures and companions. They had agreed to care for her when I had to go see to a ill family member. I received a phone call that very same day, they stated that she had died in her sleep.
He later told my husband the truth, that’s how I found out. Please can you help me in any way. That little one was my world. Still Grieving. Tee
I cried over the first blog…well done Andrew. I think video 2 if great & so very true. I wish I had the money, time, & room to love every dog who has been neglected & unloved. But I can’t…I have 6 dogs, ranging from 10 years to 6 months old. I love & adore each & every one with their different personalities. I hope those who are not in our “choir” will understand & join us to be a better owner of our pets!
I wish I had more time to read what the others have written – I know that it is inspirational to see the overwhelmingly passion you have in passing on information to us to have better lives with our dogs. Just got a chance tonight to watch the video – maybe it will come up in the furture videos, but part of responsibility is to teach your dog to obey. With obedience, a dog is happier because he/she knows what you want him to do and that it makes us (the owners) happy. It also provides a cushion of safety for the dog to immediately obey when there is danger around and one can verbally communicate a command to the dog – may even save his life!!!
Really glad I joined & am looking forward to the next video
I loved the Video! Andrew, before I got my dog, it was just me and my cat. I was perfectly happy with just me and my cat. Then I lost my mom and inherited a 1 year old Bishon. THE LAST THING IN THE WORLD I WANTED WAS A DOG!!! Let me tell you, today…do not come between me and my dog! I love my dog, and you have only helped me make his life better! Thank you. I am looking forward to the next video you send out. I am not the best dog owner, but I do have a spoiled dog! He goes everywhere with me! He’s my best friend! Thanks for your work Andrew! You are helping millions of pets, I hope! By the way, I use the information you send out to make my cat’s life better as well! So, I guess I have to thank you twice!
I was disapointed, I was not able to get eather of the videos. I would have liked to have seen them.
I am appreciating the fact how you contribute with your research and your videos to help us open our hearts and minds to the animal world so we can know how to build better relationships between the two worlds. Thanks, this is a great beginning and I am sure will go much further.
Exce;lent video. Very sage advice for new as well as experienced dog owners.
Andrew, I appreciate your dedication and innovation you are using to inform people..I enjoyed the video..it was informative and cute besides. I misght agree with some that it does seem a little superficial in that most of what presented is common sense..but it would be informative for those who DON’T have common sense. I am looking forward to the next one..My Shelby would probably give it 10 wags if she could see the pictures!
Having 4 cats..I am anxious to know when you might be pursuing that–I feel guilty and more concerned than ever now- feeding them regular cat food. My Shelby gets so excited about her food now when I pick up her bowl–She races outside and back through her doggie door and back in anticipation as if she can’t contain herself–then she makes sure none of them (my cats) get close to her feeding area at mealtime! She barks at them! She didn’t even used to care if they walked up to her bowl and ate some..
Since her skin has cleared up in just a week–she is even more huggable!
Thank you Andrew..I appreciate that your heart is in the right place!
blessings,
Carleen!
great film andrew, tes we are to be good owners we have to be informed, i own 2 shit-shus, one is 7years, and 41/2 months she is blind. but doesnot miss her sight as much as i do. she is precious, as her older one is jealous, but i love them both. i cck for both of them, i’m more into the holistic way now, and she is doing great. good film looking forward to the next one thanks andrew,
